THE BIBLE
Is Inspired; divine influence; God-breathed. “All Scripture is given by the inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” 2 Timothy 3:16; “For prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit” II Peter 1:21
Is Infallible; dependable; in capable of failing – “For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.” Matthew 5:18 “Sanctify them by your truth. You word is truth.” John 17:17
Is Immutable, unchanging; unchangeable – “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away.” Matthew 24:35;
JESUS CHRIST
Was virgin Born; was crucified, died, was buried, and rose from the grave in bodily form. “For I delievered to you first of all that which I also received; that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but.some have fallen asleep. Corinthians 15:3-6; “…Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.” Mark 16:6
Is coming again
“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself, that where I am, there you may be also.” John 14:3; “……Men of Galilee, why do ye stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”Acts 1:11;
SALVATION
A person is saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9
BAPTISM
By Immersion in Water after Salvation – “Then those who gladly received His word were biptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.” Acts 2:41 “Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And eunuch said, ‘See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized? Then philip said, ‘if you believe with all your heart, you may.” And he answered and said, ‘I believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God..’ And so he commanded the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the enuch went down into the water, and he baptized him.” Acts 8:36-38
